Karin Vlug graduated in 2014 at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts, in Fashion Design. With her graduation collection – One Square Fits All – she has won the Frans Molenaar Couture Award 2014. She is researching and developing innovative production methods for the fashion industry.
Currently Karin is working on COLLECT; a new approach to your wardrobe by fashion designers Karin Vlug and Lisa Konno. Together they created a never ending wardrobe that is variable and easy for the consumer to adjust. A basic shirt can easily transform into a dress or a jumpsuit, using a very simple DIY system.
Within her research project “Smart Fashion Production” she is developing fashion production opportunities beyond traditional methods such as pattern making and sewing. Design and production is directly in 3d and leaves no leftover material or extensive handwork.
